Help for Gypsy MC History Photo Album 2007

The comments included in this help page are intended to assist viewers viewing these photos in both the Internet and CD-ROM versions of the publication. Additional comments will be added as viewer response directs.

General Comments Pertaining to Both CD and Internet Versions:

This is Version 3 – 2007 of the “Gypsy MC Photo History”; it supersedes Versions 1 and 2 that were published in 2004 and 2005 respectively. Version 3 has been expanded to the “bookshelf” that contains twelve separate albums.

The Introduction album provides an overview of the contents of the bookshelf and the Gypsy MC History album has had eighty pages of new photos contributed by members of the Lifer Chapter (bringing this album to nearly 300 pages). There’s an album containing photos of various Pickle Patches that we’ve flown since the mid-1960’s and T-Shirts from our annual Birthday Party and Mandatory Runs beginning in 1983. There’s also a tribute to our Fallen Brothers and Sisters in the In Memory Of album and a collection of Black and White photos. Finally, I’ve included Year Books for the years that I’ve been shooting pictures beginning in 2002 and concluding in 2007. In all, there are over 2,300 photos contained in nearly 1,350 pages.

CD-ROM Version:

The 2007 Gypsy MC Photo History CD runs on Windows Operating Systems. The album should run on Windows XP or older systems. It should also run on Windows Vista but has not been tested on this operating system.

Contents – Each of the twelve album folders contained on this CD contains the photos in JPG format. These photos, although sized to 800 x 600 or less, may be printed or used for other projects. Please feel free to enjoy these photos in both the album and their native format.

Start-up – The 2007 Gypsy MC Photo History CD includes an autorun file that enables the program to start up automatically after the CD has been installed in your computer. If the album does not load properly and the bookshelf does not appear you may use MicroSoft Explorer to view the contents of the CD main directory. Find “DijiView.exe” and double click on this file. The bookshelf should open.

Screen Resolution – These album contents are best viewed on computer systems having a resolution of at least 1280 x 960. You’ll be able to enjoy the photo albums at lesser resolutions, however, text may not display properly. You may see a “scroll bar” in a text window which means that you must use the scroll bar to view the entire text. This may occur in the Introduction album as well as in the first few pages of many of the other albums. If a scroll bar does not appear click anywhere in the text … this should coax the scroll bar to appear.

Viewing – Pressing the “F11” key toggles all but the navigation bars off and on. Use this toggle to increase the size of the album page.

Portable Document Files (PDF) – There are a couple of PDFs embedded in the photo albums: the first is in the Pickle Patch album, the second in the In Memory Of album. You must have Adobe Acrobat Reader to view these files. This free software is available at the Adobe web site at www.adobe.com . See “Get Adobe Reader” on this page. Follow the directions to download.
